antiX

is a new, lightweight derivative of Mepis, based on the 2007 SimplyMepis7.0 release. Developed primarily for older x86 machines (back to a lowly 64Mb PII), antiX uses a Fluxbox or IceWM desktop and a range of generally lightweight apps to provide a clean and fast desktop distro.  Not as light as DSL or Puppy, antiX is, however, an offering that may prove more friendly to newer Linux users. Its Mepis base means that installation and configuration are easy and the default fluxbox set-up is both simple and elegant.  More experienced users will also find lots to admire in this slick and polished distro. See the antiX Main Page for more details.
